August 28, 2005Portland-based goth metallers NICODEMUS have parted ways with longtime lead guitarist Matthew McGee. According to a press release, "He leaves the group under great terms and remains a friend to the band. The band wishes him only the best in his future efforts. As previously reported, NICODEMUS recently released their third album, entitled "Vanity Is A Virtue", through the Greek label Sonic Age Records. The album reportedly owes more to the progressive sound than previous NICODEMUS releases, 2000's "Tales of the Lovelorn and Necromantic" (Dark Throne Music) and 2003's "The Supernatural Omnibus" (Dark Symphonies),which saw the band focusing on a goth/black metal-based sound with progressive elements.
